Fun on Ice: SCCC and CKPL’s Community Day

We recently had a super fun day at the Sydenham Community Curling Club (SCCC) when we joined forces with the Chatham-Kent Public Library (CKPL). It was a day packed with curling action and learning that brought together families and kids, making it a memorable experience for everyone involved.

The turnout was just amazing. We welcomed a bunch of kids and their families, and it was heartwarming to see people from different places coming together. They got a taste of curling and explored what CKPL offers. And let me tell you, the smiles and laughter were everywhere!

One of the coolest outcomes was the spike in interest for our Little Rocks program and the ‘Learn to Curl’ sessions. Quite a few families asked about these, showing us that there’s a growing curiosity about curling in our community.

We’re looking forward to more opportunities to team up with CKPL and bring unique experiences to our community. It’s all about having fun, learning new things, and bringing people together.

A huge thanks to everyone who played a part in this. It was a standout day for both SCCC and CKPL, and we’re excited about what’s next.

Announcing Engagement Tour

To our CurlON community,

After two and a half months into my role as the Executive Director at CurlON, I am excited about our potential as an industry and the future of CurlON. Over the last two months, I have been focused on understanding our landscape and operations behind the organization.

A major commitment of mine, our board of directors, and our staff, is a new mindset of listening and engagement with YOU! Whether you are a coach, competitor, club curler, or beyond, it is important for us to hear from you.

We are excited to announce a Virtual Engagement Tour with all our stakeholders. During the week of December 11-15 and January 15-19, you are invited to book a one on one session with myself to discuss all matters CurlON. We want to hear what we are doing well, where we need to improve, and what you need from us as an organization. The growth and future of CurlON and curling in Ontario starts with each of us. It is my hope you will take part in this Engagement Tour and provide us with your direction for curling in Ontario.

Please note, member clubs and their boards have also received a separate invitation for a similar session from a club level. If you are a club manager or board member, we encourage you to reach out to your board chair or club manager for more details.

I look forward to meeting with all of you and being part of the collective growth and success of CurlON and curling in Ontario.
